Finally, after the update a few days ago, we’ve had our first set of new clothes added to the Avatar Marketplace. We now have the option to dress up as rockers, well metal heads from looking at the items as we’ve recieved a bundle of Guitar Hero 5 clothes.
At work? Want to play dress up? Now you can! That’s right folks, you can now purchase and preview Avatar clothes on Xbox.com. The service wont allow you to preview the clothes on your own avatar, but it will allow to preview it on a generic one. You can also purchase Games on Demand titles from Xbox.com as well now, so its even more Demandier…Demanding?
Activision has announced that you’ll be able to use your Avatars as in-game characters in the upcoming title, Guitar Hero 5.
Your Xbox Avatar will be able to become a rock star and you’ll have the chance to put them with Guitar Hero favourites such as Axel Steel, Lars Umalut and Judy Nails. You’ll be able to give them makeovers as the game has a ‘Creat-A-Rocker’ mode, giving Avatars the chance to wear some exclusive Guitar Hero clothing and accessories.
Guitar Hero 5 is scheduled for a release in North America for 1st September but no official release date has been said about a European date. Some retailers have the game set down for the 11th September though.
Last week at Comic-Con, Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski and Rod Fergusson gave us a sneak preview of some of new Gears of War clothing items which are coming to the Xbox LIVE Avatar store.
Soon, you’ll be able to get your Avatar all ready for war as you’ll be able to get him/her fitted up with some COG and Locust soldier gear.
Bleszinski and Fergusson didn’t give us a price for the items they showed, but expect to see Microsoft Points are required.
