Bioshock 2 teaser site launches – Updated – 11/03/09

A teaser site for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams has recently turned up on the ol’ internet. When you visit the site, you will notice that it appears to be a map. To begin our journey click “read more”.

After clicking Ireland, you will notice 3 pieces of paper show up. One being an image of the Big Daddy doll, shown in the trailer.

The next…A missing person newspaper report. Note that it says the kidnapper wore a “red light”, an angered Big Daddy? Unlikely as the description states the kidnapper was “thin and above average height”, and as we know…Big Daddies are BIG….as the name implys really.
Update:09/03/09. A new image has surfaced on the site, possibly of a “Big Sister” or “Big Mommy” footprint, remember the description of a “red light”? Could this be the helmet of a “Big Mommy”?
A post over at the gametrailers.com forum could reveal a little more regarding the above. Take it as you will, but remember this was posted a while back, before the site was even launched.
“
Nobody will believe me I know but when it comes out you will see, there are Female Big Daddys this time around. Maybe they are grown up little sisters taking on the role of their past protectors idk but they look cool. Same concept but their bodys have a distinct female form, not bulky and they have blades instead of drills.
They also have this weird spherical cage ornament on theit backs with pink bows tied to it.
Youll see, eventually”
See the below picture. See the pink bow, top left corner? Lucky geuss?

Update:10/03/09: Another report of a slender figure seen kidnapping a child. Take note it also says “a single red glowing eye”, and what ever is stealing these children must be quite tough, as it survived a “crash through a third floor window”. Perhaps a Spider Splicer? They could jump quite high and land safely….

And finally a letter/note written by “J.Lynch” in 1967. Take note of the red writing around the edges, could this be the writing of “Sgt. Michael Whelan” ? Could the “J.Lynch” be Jack, the protagonist from the first game? A quick google search brings us to the Wikipedia page of Jack Lynch. Take note of some of the key information written in the Wikipedia article, 1967, Ireland, J.Lynch. Take it as you will.
Update:09/03/09: Ignore the last sentance, a new letter has appeared on the site, and as it happend “J.Lynch” stands for Jeremiah Lynch. So it’s not Jack from the first game.

Now, some clever little person over at NeoGaf, took the Flash file, worked some magic and managed to discover some more areas on the map, that are likely going to become clickable in the future (It actually seems a new one will appear every day). Notice the “X” smack bang in the center of the map? How its not dated? Could this be the location of a “new” Rapture, or something else? You’ll also notice how the other markings are happening around this central “X”. See below.

Finally this image has surfaced, perhaps a new Rapture? But that doesnt explain the “worldwide” text on the poster, as citys cant really move. Maybe a submarine? Who knows?

Update:09/03/09. A new image of the red light. Notice it says its “Moving 30 knots!”. Submarine?

Update:10/03/09: Another new sighting of the mysterious red light. Notice the word “racing”, this suggests that the object is FAST. It is also worth noting that another kidnaping took place on the same night of this sighting. Take note of the “Disparoe” image aswell. A pink bow and nightgown? Maybe the kidnapper mistook her as a little sister? Who knows…

Update:11/03/09: Confirmed Big Sisters in Bioshock 2. I’m 100% sure this is what the “red light” is. It makes sense, seeing as they have a freaking HUGE red glowing eye on the front of their mask….They must be running on the ocean floor, stealing the girls and taking them back to rapture to turn into Little Sisters. Problem is…how are the children breathing underwater?!

Todays update basically states that the Big Sisters are heading toward the US. At a rapid pace too.

The next image shows that Meltzer has contacted a newspaper regarding the mysterious lights, the newspaper editor says he doesnt want to print something that could cause panic, and compares the lights to recent UFO sightings.

And finally, notes taken, which detail all the information gathered so far.

The Big Sisters are kidnapping girls that look almost exactly like the previous games Little Sisters….
Update: Cleaned up sound file of the background noise that is playing in the background on the teaser site. Here. All i can make out are the words “Ok” and “Glacier”, what do you guys think?
Ooooh. Wierd stuff indeed. One thing that can be taken from the site is: this game isn’t the prequel alot of people have been expecting, as the date on the letter is after the original Bioshock was set (7 years later). This site has hyped me up big time for Bioshock 2
I can’t wait.

You still Should. The site keeps on updating itself and yet i dont know whats new and whats not. Thats my Reason why you should. As for the Game informer magazine when will it be shipped? I would rather read my own magazine on the article than off the internet to Create a certain level of hype for myself, But thats just me.
Hopefully you will take my suggestion into consideration and add on what game informer has put out there. not only do you understand more about the game but we might or you might find out some spoilers or thing we havent seen and or noticed on the site and article.
